🛠️ Why do failures STILL OCCUR even though we perform regular inspections and overhauls?
That’s one of the most common questions maintenance professionals ask themselves.
And indeed – this is the daily reality for many maintenance teams.
Regular activities don’t always bring the expected results because we often apply inadequate maintenance techniques for the actual nature of failures.
🔍 In the case of RANDOM FAILURES, traditional time-based approaches (Preventive Maintenance) simply don’t work.
Why?
➡️ Because failure IS NOT determined by the AGE of a component, but by cumulative stresses, secondary damages, and external conditions that aren’t visible in any maintenance schedule.
➡️ A brief spike in temperature, voltage, or pressure – and the component’s resistance begins to drop.
The effects? They may appear months later.
💡 In such cases, the only effective approach is Predictive Maintenance (PdM) – based on condition monitoring and risk analysis.
